“"I stalk the world to find events and images that, I feel, tell small stories incorporating exciting color and emotion into my paintings.”
After the paintings are pigment on canvas they take a step further and are hand painted with wet acrylic gels and mediums, fluid acrylics and other acrylic paints. After the finished canvas is done it is photographed to create a high resolution digital file that can be used for gift products. There is only one original painting. Reproductions of the originals are for sale in a variety of sizes and on multiple substrates including greeting cards and matted prints and gift items such as ceramic tiles.
“Being an artist also means collecting art. Collecting art at any price is a satisfying & addictive process. As I am ready to finish hanging some of our older pieces we have finally unpacked & hanging some of new ones I realize how meaningful it is to sit amongst other artists work. I thank my parents who collected art & my aunts & uncles, who were artists, especially my mother for taking me to museums as long as I can remember.”
Marilyn lives full time in Asheville and is owned by four cats.
